Last night we went to a community track meet at Zionsville Middle School. They have some SERIOUS runners, but they also have races for kids. Even some of the kids are amazing and were part of a track club, dressed in spiked running shoes. Then there were some "beginner" runners, like our boys. They did 2 races -the 100 & 200.
Here is Will in the 100. He was put in a group of 10-11 year old boys so needless to say, he finished last. But I was proud of him for sticking with it and trying his best.
Here's Jake in the 100. I was waiting for him at the finish line, and I was shocked to see him almost leading the pack! He actually came in 2nd or 3rd for his race. There was an older girl who won it, and then Jake slowed down when he saw us cheering for him. He was loving the attention!
Will & Jake did the 200 together. Jake's in the back of the pack, Will is behind the boy w/a red shirt.
All in all, it was a fun night, and they even got ribbons for participating.
