Camp Mommawatchi 2011

Once again, it is time for our annual "Camp Mommawatchi" with our friends the Tinchers! This year we decided to add a few friends to the mix. We planned an arts theme, and we called it "Time to pARTy!" We did lots of musical, artistic & theatrical things! Here are some of the highlights...
Amber made a cool art gallery in her foyer. We learned about lots of artists (I learned a few things too!)

Time for s'mores!

Friends Heather & Jen sweating it out by the campfire and getting eatin' by mosquitoes! It's like real camping...

Breakfast: "No More Grumpy Bear Pancakes," a camp tradition.

Jake's snake sock puppet

The kids wrote their own puppet shows and performed with their sock puppets.

The boys

Group photo time

We made guitars out of tissue boxes

That Alli girl was rockin' it out!

Rock band!

Of course we had to take a field trip to the pool, but how did we tie in the arts theme? We gave each family an underwater camera to be a photographer for the afternoon.

Making food art - fruit kabobs

Painting on a pillowcase "canvas" - this was Jake's favorite activity

Making sand art

In honor of our camp's 5-year anniversary, Amber made this drama cake for our "cast party."

Jam time...thank goodness for VBS songs which the kids already knew and loved!

Jake lost his first tooth at Camp! (except for the one he had pulled by the dentist). Thanks to Amber for pulling it because I was too chicken to do it.

Snuggle time with Reece

This year we added "mail" for the kids to read. They looked forward to receiving these special messages throughout the day.

Field trip to Indianapolis Museum of Art

Amber & Amy - two tired mommas!
Next year's theme is already in the works! :)
