Learning to walk on stilts
In the schoolhouse. we learned that Indiana kids only went to school in the winter months when there was no farming to do.
The blacksmith made a nail for the kids.

The boys were "put to work" by a woman who needed more firewood in the house. They felt very manly doing this job :)

They learned that animal skin like the deer's here can be used for leather.
Although I don't have any pictures of this, the boys really liked the "porta potties" (outhouses), and I was glad to have the privilege to teach the boys what a chamber pot was :)
